Jobs on the UK Temporary Shortage List – Effective 22 July 2025

On 22 July 2025, significant reforms to the UK Skilled Worker visa came into force under the Statement of Changes HC 997, following the Government’s Immigration White Paper Restoring Control over the Immigration System published on 12 May 2025. These reforms raised the skill and salary thresholds for Skilled Worker visa applicants, with most eligible roles now requiring RQF Level 6 or above.

However, to address ongoing recruitment difficulties in certain industries, the Government introduced the Temporary Shortage List. This list preserves sponsorship eligibility for specific occupations at skill levels RQF 3–5, allowing employers to continue recruiting from overseas in areas where labour shortages are acute.

Below is the complete list of occupations included in the Temporary Shortage List as of 22 July 2025, alongside their corresponding occupation codes.
