What is the Global Talent Visa?

The Global Talent Visa is a UK work route for people with recognised talent or promise in academia or research, arts and culture, or digital technology. It is designed for senior specialists, founders, researchers, artists and innovators who need flexibility to work, change projects or develop a UK professional base.

Unlike sponsored work routes, the Global Talent Visa does not require a UK employer to hold a sponsor licence or assign a Certificate of Sponsorship. Most applicants first need endorsement from an approved endorsing body, although some prestigious prize holders can apply without endorsement.

Successful applicants can choose permission for up to 5 years at a time. The route can lead to settlement, with the qualifying period depending on the endorsement category and the applicant’s work in the UK.
