The extension process is necessary if your sponsorship licence is about to expire or if you need to add more workers to your sponsorship list. The extension process must be completed before the expiration date of your licence.

When can a Sponsorship Licence be renewed?

Sponsor licences for the Worker and Temporary Worker routes are now granted indefinitely and no longer need to be renewed every four years. This change took effect on 6 April 2024. The only exception is the UK Expansion Worker route, which retains a maximum four-year validity.
